The information you need to know

Acceptable Recyclable Materials

Glass: Whole bottles and jars, excluding cookware, plate glass, Safety glass, light bulbs, ceramics and not-glass materials.

CANS: Tin and Aluminum.

PLASTIC CONTAINERS: Number 1 and 2
All containers must be rinsed, empty, and dry with tops removed.

NEWSPAPER: (tied in bundles with string, or placed in brown grocery bags). No additional magazines or other types of paper permitted.

CORRUGATED CARDBOARD: not to exceed 2 ft. by 3 ft., flattened , bundled and tied. Place between recycling toters.

Please do not place bundled cardboard outside until the night before pick-up.

Place these items inside the recycling bin:

  • Bottles
    • Includes any color glass bottles and jars
    • Rinse clean, remove caps (place metal caps in bin, discard other caps in trash)
  • Cans
    • Rinse clean, place can and lid in bin, no need to remove labels
  • Plastic Containers
    • Recycle only if the recycling symbol on the bottom of the container is a #1 or #2.
    • Discard lids/caps, crush containers if possible

Place these items next to bin or in second bin:

  • Newspapers
    • Place in brown paper bag or bundle with string
    • Include all advertising inserts, no plastic bags
  • Mixed Paper
    • Place magazines, catalogues, mail, cereal boxes (remove plastic inserts), paperback books, telephone books, wrapping paper, toilet paper, paper towel inner rolls, textbooks (remove hard covers), store receipts, and all other paper into paper bags.
  • Corrugated Cardboard (packing boxes)
    • Empty boxes, flatten and bundle with string (no tape) or place under bin.
    • Cut to 3’X3’ maximum.
    • Corrugated cardboard has wavy center layer.
